A real business site built from the owners photos and voice.
Lori Lozada (yes she is my mom) came to me with the need of showing her home-restoration business online. I, although never building a website before, worked with her directly to make it happen. This included mapping out the site, turning her ideas into copy, executing her vision section by section, and building the site around photos of the homes she'd already brought back to life.
Gives Lanlex a professional home online that is built entirely from real projects and Lori's own voice.
Turns a personal renovation portfolio into a lead-generation tool for buyers, sellers, and Realtors.
Built and launched in Wix and ready for Lori to update herself as new homes are finished.
In fourth grade, I boldly declared to my teacher that I was going to become a comedian/cartoonist someday.
Ever since I was a kid, I've been constantly trying to make people laugh. I was the class clown throughout school, and my now career goals reflect aspects of my declaration: create original, funny ideas that people remember.
Comedy has always been a huge part of my life. One summer, I wrote jokes every day and gave standup a go. I tested my chops at open mic nights twice. The first set killed and the second set bombed. I learned something valuable from both; I'm funny, and even when no one is laughing I can push through and finish what I started. Of course, I think the second set just had a tough crowd.
What attracted me to advertising was the freedom to create and the ability to do so with other people. I have lots of ideas and enjoy bouncing them off other creatives. For me, the best advertising doesn't just sell a product; it entertains, has humor, and people remember the ad long after they've seen it (like the classic ads of the 80s and 90s).
One reason I became interested in advertising is because I think a lot of modern ads have become procedural. Too many feel like they're built from the same blueprint, following the same set up and trends. The work I like and want to create is work that's original, takes risks, and ultimately makes people laugh.
I'm a quick learner, highly organized, creative, and empathetic. I know I still have a lot to learn, and that's one of the things that excites me most about beginning my career. I'm eager to absorb everything I can from experienced creatives while contributing ideas that bring more originality, humor, and personality back into advertising.
About the photo — This was taken during my fraternity's annual awards show, "The Delties," a parody of The Office's Dundies. For two years I helped collect the funniest photos and videos from the year, brainstorm award categories, and create content for the ceremony.
Not every idea becomes an ad. Some become jokes. Some become sketches. Some stay in the notebook. This is where they all start.
The book where jokes, sketches, movie ideas are birthed and waiting to grow.
The bit that was inspired by the movie, and a little outside research. This is the one that did me well, the other one is being omitted due to its "racy" nature.
Potential band names, song names, and ideas for the songs themselves.
My mom and I play pinochle all the time, so I designed a score sheet we'd actually enjoy using, touched it up with AI and a few new ideas. Made as a Mother's Day gift — no client, no brief, just a personal project that came out of an ordinary night at the table.
